Weekly Update – November 15, 2019

Dear Families,

As many of you may know, our school district just went through a ‘refresh’ of our strategic plan. Over the last few months, including Implementation Day our school staff have been learning about Indigenous ways of knowing, our enduring understandings and neuroscience and how it is connected to education. If you haven’t already, please check out our strategic plan on our district website: https://sd48achievement.org/#  and for a closer look at the enduring understandings, click on the ‘Big Ideas’ on the top of the website.

You will find information on the ERASE website linked to Valleycliffe’s website (please take a look) that has great information on important topics that help promote safe schools. There is also an anonymous reporting tool for students if they have heard or seen something that concerns them: https://erasereportit.gov.bc.ca/

Have you seen or heard something that concerns you?

Is someone or something bothering you or your friends at school?

The erase|Report It tool lets you send a secure, anonymous and confidential message to your school or school district’s safe school coordinator, who will follow up on it right away. You do not have to provide your name unless you want to.

Messages are only monitored during your school’s operational hours. If this is an emergency please call 911 immediately.

If you see or hear something, say something!

Visit the erase website to find resources for students, parents, and educators related to student safety, sexual orientation and gender identity, mental health and substance use.

School Cash Online:

This method of payment simplifies things for us here at VCE but we will always accept cash or cheques as well.
